— Definition of Education
Bahasa IndonesiaPendidikan adalah usaha sadar dan terencana untuk mewujudkan suasana belajar dan proses pembelajaran agar peserta didik secara aktif mengembangkan potensi dirinya untuk memiliki kekuatan spiritual keagamaan, pengendalian diri, kepribadian, kecerdasan, akhlak mulia, serta keterampilan yang diperlukan dirinya, masyarakat, bangsa dan negara.
English (British)Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and process so that learners actively develop their potential to possess religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the skills they, society, the nation and the state require.
Hak dan Kewajiban
Article 5
— Right to Education
Bahasa Indonesia(1) Setiap warga negara mempunyai hak yang sama untuk memperoleh pendidikan yang bermutu.

Wajib Belajar
Article 34
— Compulsory Education
Bahasa Indonesia(2) Pemerintah dan Pemerintah Daerah menjamin terselenggaranya wajib belajar minimal pada jenjang pendidikan dasar tanpa memungut biaya.
